Various Chinese
The Chinese nation is divided into more than 50 races, spoken words are various.
Shanghainese is spoken in Shanghai, Cantonese is spoken in Guangdong, Hong Kong, Taiwanese is spoken in Taiwan.
And lots of slang are advanced in inland area far from cities.
Shanghainese, Cantonese and Taiwanese are quite different. People speaking Cantonese don't understand Shanghainese.
People speaking Taiwanese don't understand Cantonese. They are hard to understand each other.
Shanghainese is foreign language for people in Taiwan, Guangdong in spite of same Chinese.
Most of commercial TV programs are broadcasted with chinese sub-title.
Therefore, the Chinese goverment had promoted standard language called Mandarin - "话" to unificate many kinds of languages.
Official Mandarin is advanced based on dialect spoken in Beijing.
The genaral Chinese many people in all over the world leaning is Mandarin.
Pinyin
The word "Pinyin" is divided two parts. Pin means together, connection and yin means tone, sound.
Pinyin is a phonetic symbol to pronunce Chinese, Transcribe is mixed 25 alphabets out of "v" and 4 type of accents.
All the Chinese letters are written with pinyin at the top or bottom of each letters on a primer for people who learns Chinese.
Even Chinese children learn pinyin at first before reading Chinese.
Pinyin is getting used all over the world to support reading Chinese. But one problem makes us trouble to pronunce pinyin.
Pinyin is written by an alphabet, so people who knows english pronunciations often misunderstand to read some kind of pinyin.
For example, pinyin "ci" includes "i". Most of english people will mistake to read the pronunciation "i" likely "see".
Real usage to pronunce "ci" is closely the tone "ts" of "cats". Pinyin "zi" is likey "z" of "zoo".
All of us have to remember own pronunciation pinyin has.
No conjugated form
Verb is usually changed its tail by various reason at any languages. However, no any verbs are changed in Chinese.
No matter what subjects, a verb would be uniformity. This rule helps us to learn Chinese.
We don't have to learn complex changes of the verb.
For exampl, in the case of verb "(qù)", all we have to do is to remember its meaning, chinese character, pinyin, tone.
Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese
Chinese letters are not easy and take much time to write down. That's why most of letters have lots number of strokes.
The Chinese government decided to make complex letters simplify. These simple letters are called Simplified Chinese.
And no simplified Chinese are called traditional Chinese, which are used in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Macao now.
